Your motherboard links all the other components together and allows them to communicate with eachother. When choosing your motherboard you must ensure it fits into your PC casing and that it is compatiable with your CPU (processor). Motherboards include PCI slots of sound and networking cards etc. AGP or PCI express for your GPU (graphics card), SATA ports and IDE ports for hard drives and optical drives. On the back they will include display ports sound output ports usb ports etc. most motheboards include onboard sound and graphics however i would recommend buying a seperate graphics card at least.
