Case Prep and PSU

Before you begin the installation ensure you have a large work surface, a phillips screwdriver, an antistatic wrist strap and plenty of lighting. You may want to have some cable ties to hand so you can keep all the wires tidy. When your components are delivered they will be wrapped in an antistatic bag, you should ensure they are kept inside these bags untill they are to be installed. When handling components do not touch the circuit boards or elements and it is also recommended that you wear an antistatic strap!

Some PC cases come with the power supply unit already installed if this is the case you can start with the motherboard. The PSU fits in the top of your case at the back with the power outlet facing out Because your case will be empty this should be fairly easy to install. Notice on one side of the case there should be a series of small holes, these are where the case fans will be installed later, this side of the case is usually the side pannel you should remove. Go ahead and remove the small fixing screws on the back to release this pannel. If you turn the case on its side you should now be looking down inside the PC case at its chassis. If you need to, insert the PSU and secure with the fixing screws supplied. Remember to plug the power supply into the motherboard
